PlayStation 2, also known as PS2, is a home game console that was released by Sony in the USA on October of 2000. The PlayStation 2 standard color is matte black. Limited edition quantities of
other colors also exist. These include: ceramic white, metallic blue, metallic silver, light yellow, navy, pearl white, opaque blue, opaque black, Sakura purple, satin gold, satin silver, snow
white, transparent blue, and super red. The PS2 comes standard with a wing shaped controller that is called a PS2 DualShock 2. The DualShock 2 contains buttons and analog joysticks on the top
side as well as buttons on the back side that control video game action. The top-left side contains the Directional pad buttons. The D-Pad, as it is more commonly known, is a set of four buttons
that are configured in a cross shape. These are used to control game activity by allowing game movement to the left, right, up and down directions. The top-right side has four buttons and each is
marked with a symbol. The symbols are: a blue X, a pink square, a green triangle, and a light red circle. The top-middle of the controller has a Select button, a Start button, an Analog button,
and two joysticks. The back side contains a Left 1, Left 2, Right 1, and Right 2 trigger- like buttons. The PlayStation 2 game console housing looks like two slender rectangles, one is larger
than the other, and they appear to have been placed adjacent to each other. The console is designed to sit up-right vertically on a base stand or horizontally on one of its larger sides. The
front side can be identified by the slide-out door of the CD/DVD drive, two memory card slots, two controller ports, the Reset, and the Eject button. The back side can be identified by the
Power button, AC In connector, and the Fan grill. Other jacks and a 3.5 inch Expansion Bay are also present depending on the model or revision. Revisions V0 through V15 exist as of 2006.
Sony PlayStation 2 Slim
PlayStation 2 Slim, also known as the PS2 Slim, is the common name for the latest revisions of the PlayStation 2. This home game console was first released by Sony in the USA on November of 2004
as revision V12 of the PS2. The PlayStation 2 Slim standard color is matte black but silver models are also available. The PS2 Slim comes standard with a wing shaped controller that is called a

Sony PlayStation 3
PlayStation 3, commonly abbreviated as PS3, home game console was first released by Sony in the USA on November of 2006. The PlayStation 3 standard color is black and has a glossy finish.
The standard controller is wireless and maintains the wing shaped controller of predecessor PS gaming equipment. It is commonly referred to as the PS3 SIXAXIS controller. To control
video game action, the controller contains buttons and analog joysticks on its top side and more buttons on its back side. The top-left side contains Directional pad buttons. The D-Pad,
as it is more commonly known, is a set of four buttons that are configured in a cross shape. These are used to control game activity by allowing game movement to the left, right, up
and down directions. The top-right side has four buttons and each is marked with a symbol. The symbols are: a blue X, a pink square, a green triangle, and a light red circle. The

for playing video games, this console can also be used for enjoying music, pictures, movies, and internet access. The standard color of the PlayStation 3 is referred to as piano black because of
the glossy finish. Other colors are also available. These include metallic blue, silver, pink, ceramic white and champagne gold. The console has a rectangular design with some what rounded
corners. In the top middle sits a 16:9 ratio TFT LCD screen that measures 110 mm diagonally. To the left of the PSP LCD screen is a Directional Pad. The D-Pad, as it is more commonly known,
is a set of four buttons that are configured in a cross shape. These are used to control game activity by allowing game movement to the left, right, up and down directions. To the right of the
display are four buttons that are each marked with a symbol. The symbols are: X, square, triangle, and circle. To the bottom of the LCD are 7 buttons. These include the Home, Volume +,
Volume -, Screen Options, Sound Options, Select, and Start buttons. The Power Switch, which also functions as a Hold Switch, is located on the lower right side. Slightly to the left but still
in the bottom right corner is located the DC IN Jack. The left side contains the wireless switch and the port for the PSP Memory Stick Duo. The top left and top right corners contain transparent
L and R Shoulder Buttons. The bottom side contains the battery compartment and the pop-open Optical Drive (UMD Drive).
